Modular Construction
A construction method where buildings are manufactured in sections (modules) in a factory, then transported and assembled on-site.
Volumetric Modular
Fully finished 3D modules including walls, floors, ceilings, and MEP systems manufactured off-site.
Panelized Construction
A prefab method where flat wall, floor, and roof panels are manufactured off-site and assembled on-site.
Prefabrication (Prefab)
The practice of assembling building components in a factory before transporting them to the construction site.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA)
A design approach that optimizes buildings for factory production and efficient on-site assembly.
Off-Site Construction
Any construction activity performed away from the final building location, typically in a factory.
Stick-Built Construction
Traditional construction where buildings are framed and finished entirely on the project site.
Permanent Modular Construction (PMC)
